Europa_Blue_SE1 After doing my service the other day my wee bro was checking his sparks in his Veccy B 1.8 took the first spark plug out and there was some oil around where the washer is when he took the rest of the plugs out all were the same they all had a small amount of oil on them not the electrode and the electrode looked perfect their Bosch Super 4 under a year old and do look perfect except from this oil round the washers on all 4 it's like mibbe theirs been a bit of spillage during a top up or something... occasionally the car struggles to start but only for a sec or 2 but it always starts on 2nd try has a new Bosch Silver top Battery under a year old any ideas what the oil could be and could the starting probs be linked to it??? Any and all info will be appreciated... cheers.. Guys
vocky it's a common fault on the 1.8 engine  not common on the z22se, but would be the cam cover gasket or just spilt oil from the filler cap
JohnnyN Bloody hell, something else to worry about. I wouldn't have thought that it would be an oil spill because it was on all 4 plugs. So probably my cam cover leaking then?
vocky the way the z22se engine is designed it will reach all four plugs if spilt from the filler cap  but it could be the seal, very cheap though 🙂
