Fly by Wire throttle

Hi all, I notices "worththestory" mentionbed this not so long ago, why does the vectra 150 sem to pull better on 3/4 throttle as opposed to foot to the floor ? lol

Is it a characteristic or is it something else to worry about after replacing my clutch !!!!

it's due to the angle of the butterfly and intake system, it flows better at 80% throttle 🙂

I noticed this when porting / modifying an inlet system :roll:

I've just got used to drving it differently than any other car.

The more I drive it the way it wants to be driven, the better it performs .....

It has to be female ....

Wouldn't you damage the servo?

Not sure, under the pedal is a bracket with a rubber stop, could you modify that to limit the pedal at around 80% ???

What you rekon ? I spose it takes gettin used too, but i cant get my head around only accelerating 3/4 to floor it !!! lol notsure.gif

Yeah I know what you mean, I seem to have got used to it.

I think a bump stop would be better on the pedal, as obviously that controls the throttle servo.

Everything is still new to me however, I've had an X20XEV, a C25XE and a C20NE. I have to say I just love this engine, performance and economy are nicely worked to give you a fantastic every day car!

'flow' is not as simple to describe as it sounds :?

although it flows better at about 80% position (less restriction) it still needs full throttle at higher revs as the volume required is greater at higher revs :?

it took me two years working in flow control to understand the theory :?

going slightly off topic, have you smoothed your throttle body then? Was it worth the effort?
