ok, time to put you all out of your misery :lol:

my sc injectors haven't arrived yet :roll: but I decided to take my vx220 for a little spin car.gif as the sun was out - for a change :roll:

once the engine was at operating temperature I gave it full throttle........................and never stopped for 10 miles ohyeah.gif

it goes well and hits the rev limiter very quickly thumbup

the sound is something else drool.gif

It reminds me of my old astra sri turbo, I never stopped smiling when I drove it loopy.. :lol:

it does go better 😃

before it never seemed to have quite enough power, now it's getting close to what I want showo..

the only mods were;
ported 2.4 inlet manifold
ported 68mm tb
3" silicone 90 degree elbow on top of tb
3" inlet pipe
k+n cone filter - which sits right next to the side air vent and hopefully will suck only cold air dunno..

I wonder aswell LOL, Hopefully your theory will work. Will the standard ECU map be ok or are you looking at getting a remap after fitting them?

I will get a remap at some point, the rev limiter is much lower on the vx220 🙁

so a nice 7000rpm limit will do me fine 🙂

I've been meaning to ask, are you going to just stick the injectors in and hope the ECU can adjust the fueling accordingly from the lambda signal or have you got software to adjust it?

I will give them a quick try, but expect they will need a remap to adjust the ecu map perfectly :roll:

It could work, but the problem you'll have is if the fuelling takes the AFR above the Lambda sensors range, you could try running it with a restriction in the intake with the old injectors to reduce the fuel flow, then swap the injectors and remove the restriction.

Do you have any OBD software to monitor AFR?

Will def need a remap to see the real benifit, and with something as bespoke this I don't think I'd trust anyone other than Courtenay's.

I will give them a try, due to my engines spec they might just work dunno..

I haven't yet bought an afr unit, but have some parts in place for it 🙂

right then :roll:

fitted the sc injectors 🙂

reset the ecu 🙂

engine started first time, a bit lumpy but settled down to a highish tickover :roll:

black smoke from exhaust 🙁

ecu battling the injectors, smoke comes and goes :?

'DOOH' moment, reconnected the fpr vacuum pipe :oops:

smoke stops, tickover improves 🙂

ran to full temperature, no ecu light so far 🙂

hopefully get some moderate driving mileage on the reset ecu over the weekend dunno..

watch this space 🙂

ps: it did sound awesome when first started, very deep exhaust note 8)

I just found this a bit risky without monitoring AFR, but well, that's interesting at last 🙂

I'm more worried about running lean than over fuelling :roll:

neither are any good for an engine, but at least I can get it mapped to lower the fuelling if required 🙂

What you reckon for the price of the 2.4 throttle, if your already importing the manifold and paying the shipping?
On std cams wouldnt this improve the low and mid range slightly?

the bigger 68mm tb is not required without cams etc, too much flow dunno..

but the 2.4 manifold with the 58mm tb will improve performance according to the usa guys 🙂

Just had a quick read and there may be tickover trouble with 2.4 throttle.

Hows this sound for the ready to fit kit, all parts required except intake piping.

the usa cars don't like the 2.4 tb for some reason notsure.gif

that may be because it was tried on a standard engine, the 68mm tb is far too big for a standard engine :roll:
