General 2.4 Inlet Manifold Questions

As far as the vacumn take of goes as the vec,we have the one outlet already,so in theory a plastic t-peice for a windy washer pipe might be an idea....the nu get 2 outlets....

All of my existing servo hose (recently replaced by Vauxhall as part of the recall) is labelled as 10.5mm ID.

Once again Vauxhall fails miserably to keep any kind of uniformity within its branches :roll:

I will just have to wait and see wont I 😃 If Vocky can fit a 10.5mm hose over a 13.5mm pipe then hopefully, so can I!

I knew I should have used a bigger hose :lol:

still boiling water seems to do the trick, BUT be careful the takeoff is quite fragile :roll:

Did you use the standard Vaux 10.5mm hose vocky onto the intake nipple? There is no way on earth that the 10.5mm stuff I have would fit even after boiling the bugger, If i'd pushed any harder Id break the thing? I'd recomend using a brake servo plug and a little rubber hose to everyone.

I bought some new 10mm ID servo hose, it was a bugger to fit :roll:

Outside diameter I would think? Measured my new pipe which had 12.5mm x 1.25mm printed on the side and the internal diameter was 12.5mm and the thickness of the pipe was ₁-1.5mm, so total outside diameter would be 15mm.

This would mean a pipe with 13.5mm outside diameter would be ₁₀.5mm internal diameter, no?

I may have the dimensions wrong but one pipe is defo bigger than the other? Here's a pic of the pipe on the car.

That should be 12.5mm to 8.5mm... if you get the servo valve with the vacuum take off on it that goes from 12.5mm to 12.5mm (part no on previous pages) you should be alright. Lightening coupe managed to fit a 12.5mm hose over the 2.4 manifold end so it should work alright. When i get my manifold i will be able to confirm!

you don't need to change it 😃

some are made with the pipes the other way round, ie the small pipe goes to the inlet manifold and the large to the servo.

some are both the bigger size, some are both the smaller size dunno..

the only reason for changing the one way valve is to get a bigger internal diameter going to the inlet manifold to match the 2.4 takeoff, it doesn't matter what size goes to the servo as that's not changed 🙂

large to the 2.4 inlet manifold take off and whatever the servo has stays the same 🙂

I believe early 2.2 inlet manifolds had the larger size take off and later 2.2 inlets had the smaller size take off :?

my 2003 vx220 had a small (8.5mm) 2.2 inlet manifold take off for the servo, my 2001 vectra had the larger take off dunno..

I meant specifically on Blue Se2's car... My VX has a large connection on the manifold and the servo, like your vectra

so that's one less part to buy for yours, I'm not sure if the servo hose will be long enough to reach the new position on the 2.4 inlet manifold, you could cut it in half and use a piece of the hard plastic pipe like on Blue Se2's pic

So do are you saying have 2 oneway valves then? Leave the standard one on then get another with the Vacuum take off as well.
