ice upgrade advice for vectra b

hi,
i am looking to upgrade the speakers and possibly the head unit in the vectra i have bought about 3 weeks ago. i am tempted to take the old speakers and head unit from my old passat.
they are:- Genesis audiophile 16.5 component speakers for the front
Genesis profile16 components for the rear and possibly looking at the genesis profile 4 ultra amp to drive it all.
i know that it is all good kit as the audiophile components that i have in my passat were driven by the profile 2 amp and exhibited exceptional clarity giving clearly defined sounds through the full range.
the doors in the front of the passat were dynamatted as a matter of course.
i also have an alpine cda-9855r head unit from the passat but i find it overtly complicated and would like one that was simple to use but had the feature that i like.
if any one can give me advice as to if the speakers will fit in my veccy and what i should expect or look for then i would be grateful,

Stick with the Alpine mate. That headunit on its own makes the world of difference. I kept the standard speaker setup in my car with an Alpine headunit but I added 2x 12" JBL subs in an enclosed box and it sounds great.

Got similar speakers in the front of mine component 6 1/2" KEF, they are Dynaudio made jobbies, Genesis used to do the same setup with their name on it around £300.

Got a Genesis Profile 2 to drive the rear Macrombe 6 1/2" but the main usage is from a Genesis SM110 driving the fronts passively with decent cable not the standard junk. Dont skimp on the RCA phono interconnect.

Have used Alpine for many years now got a D310 simple for normal use and when set up. All other head units will be as complicated as each other, slow down read the manual Alpine are the best for sound throughout the range.
Will need something like Alpine to Vectra wiring loom adapter i used Autoleads PC99-ALP Multistalk Patch lead £2.49 & PC99-X06 Multistlk adapter £19.99 Total delivered £28.98 next day. Now i have steering wheel functioning head unit 90% working ok. Alpine from £65 upwards.

the vectra sri150 had a very good sound system installed, apparently there are 16 speakers in there somewhere :lol:

the standard head unit isn't great, but I had an Alpine head unit fitted in mine and the sound was very good.

I've had a bad experience with Autotleads patch leads. I even took them back to have them fitted and the installation chap couldn't get them to work properly. In the end I bought the genuine leads which in total came to £65 and they work perfectly first time every time. No programming required just Plug & Play.

And it doesnt play cdr's :?

My CDR500 plays cdr's.

The only thing the steering controls dont do is fast forward and rewind, that control just skips to next track or the previous with up and down tuning.
You may have an outdated Alpine pre 2005 model though some work as in the 9812.

Dont want to throw aa spanner in the works but my Alpine D310 UK model plays anything and is multiregion. Tried region 1,2,4,9 & All couldnt believe my eyes, it says set the region code in the manual, sod that i wont have anything to play than cheers..
