Well, I'm now the lucky owner of a set of 18" sportstars. They cost me a fortune by the time I got tyres on but well worth it I think! The rims are 18"x8" et38, and the tyres are bringstone potenza RE050A's.
The wheels might have a low offset but they look the part sticking out giving the car a much wider stance, from the rear on the road the car just looks that much more "beefy" if you know what I mean and I love it. Downside is they do catch the rear arch very slightly over speed bumps so Im gonna stick some bilsteins on to try and sort that out. Other thing is they do weigh more and you can feel it under acceleration, but not drasticaly, the sacrifice in the name of style is worth it.
The tyres grip like mad better than my goodyear F1's (which are good to start with) and the best part is the reduction in road noise, they really are a LOT quieter and makes cruising down the motorway far more pleasurable. Downside is they might not last so long, the wear rate is only 140 compared to the eagle f1's 280, but only time will tell. They are expensive but we all know its money spent where it matters.
Anyway the pics...

Anyone spot the addition to the rear arches? Did them last year to reduce the stone chipping from what the fronts kick up, with the et38 there gonna be vital now. They wernt a straight fit, I had to reprofile the back of them with a dremel as the coupe arches have a shallower crease than the hatch, they do the job though and cant look bad as noone ever notices them until I point them out. so what do you think?
