Thorney Motorsport VX220 stolen

Just saw this on another site, where it was copied and pasted from VXRonline. Repost? I couldn't see anything if it was :?

Last night from the back of a race truck.

Obviously its pretty unique, if anyone hears of anything being offered can they contact me directly?

Also stolen were a variety of race parts including a unique to the VX220 4 branch manifold.

The car is unique and the parts on even more so, I'm assuming a lot of this will end up on ebay but seeing the uniqueness of it all we might ahve a chance to catch the little scrotes.

There is a reward as well.

So, if anyone gets offered a £1200 manifold on the cheap, you know who to tell.

Seems a bit of an odd car to steal, it's not exactly generic :?

It looked great at PVS too.

I know a certain member ( not mentioning names) on here was really after one of those manifolds but didnt think he would steal one though LOL

Thats a right shitter, makes you wonder why anyone would steal a car like that, not as though they can sell it on

there's only about a thousand vx220's in the UK and most owners visit the vx220.org

so the chance of getting caught are extremely high :roll:

plus it stands out like a sore thumb :?

ebay is being scanned for possible parts by various members, so selling it will be impossible dunno..

can't believe somebody had the balls to steal this, its not like it'll blend in with other cars it stands out like a sore thumb. hope they get it back with not too much damage.

Feel sorry for the owner, pretty unique motor especially the parts which makes me wonder if thats why it was nicked! Must have been thought out though, cos surely a car thief wont nick one cos it looks good, there must be more to it.

stolen to order, stripped for parts - end result = never seen again, but a few parts recovered

I agree vocky but I really think the latter is what it's been I mean it's too much for joyriders they would deffinetelly of got a pull of the police if they got seen driving about and I doubt any parts ever get recovered but if that is the case the person whos VX it goes into will have to very carefull who they take it to for MOTs etc... But you never know as you said it could of just been joyriders which=burnt out(ouch) it's a shame anyway...

yes i hope they catch them i once had a 1989 audi quattro in mint show room condition spent some pounds on it then the last time i seen it ,it was on its roof all smashed in and minus nearly three grands worth of bbs split rim raceing wheels and tyres which were imported from germany

quite correct [for a Normally Aspirated - not forced induction]
the 4-1 has the best performance at the higher rpm, whereas the 4-2-1 doesn't have quite as much top end but has gains across the entire rpm range.

I have always fitted 4-2-1 manifolds on my na cars, I just prefer them 🙂

OUCH Batcho mate LOVELY car the Audi Quattro it's a shame to think someone could d that a car like that well any car for that matter by the sound of your post they never get caught I hope the arshols that took the VX220 get caught!!!or at least the car doesn't get found burnt out somewhere...
