Just bought a 2001 Vectra 2.2 CDX Hatchback, Petrol Blue.

Absolutely love the car, the climate control is better than I could have hoped for!

Couple of issues

1) Throttle, I am aware this is 'fly by wire' however if you bury it, the car sort of gets lethargic then goes. If you go 3/4 travel, it goes off like a rocket!
2) Clutch is a little, not necessarily a problem, but noteworthy
3) Possibly linked to the above, the clutch pedal can seem to vibrate at lower revs, especially as the car picks up.
4) The motor has a rough induction noise lower down the rev range, but picks up very quick!

I have no manual for the car, anyone have a pdf version?

Just been and de-restricted the airbox, it's even better now. Though I did suspect there was some part of the airbox not put together properly initially. As a clip was loose and some zip ties had been used (Yuck). Put it all back together and it flies now, particularly round town (which was where it was feeling alittle limp).

Everyday it seems to get better.

Need a new panel filter!

Will take pictures tomorrow.

Next get rid of the precat showo..
Then port the throttle body.
If you think the gain was worthwhile with the airbox or inferior three pipe mod, i reckon you will be pleasantly surprised with above.
Didnt think it was worth the effort doing the airbox mod (front bumper off etc), negligeable hardly noticeable, but mines done now.

Take onboard what you have said, it may be a couple of things making it 'seem' better.

1) I don't think the airbox was 'clicked' together correctly, possibly causing a leak.
2) The car has driven progressively better since I picked it up, (learning?) but this rose sharply since modifying the airbox.

that's a good thing about the z22se ecu, it self learns

but be warned, it likes a smooth curve so full revs after a mod tend to make the ecu a little jumpy :roll:

easiest way out of that, reset the ecu (battery off for 10 minutes) and then a moderate drive for 30 miles 🙂

Would like to reset ECU, have done on any Vauxhall after buying, but the codes are missing .....

So want to figure out obtaining them etc.

you only need the codes for tech2 programming, resetting the ecu doesn't require anything - just the battery disconnection 🙂

best to get the codecard from vauxhall :roll:

I realise about the ecu reset, it's just the fact I don't have the codes so when I disconnect the battery I'm knackered.

I'll just carry on as is for now, in any case, need some more parts and will reset after I have those.

It's not a problem, the ecu reset isn't essential 🙂
