Might be a formality....so i will try and set the mood. Yesterday morning i left work (yes the infamous night shift) and it was freezing (bout 8 deg C). I have a dual cat back setup on my 2.2 SRi astra g and at the lights i look out my rear vision and see a shit load of steam pouring out of the pipes (completly understandable). The trip home takes about 15min and half of the trip is on the highway at 100km/h (well thats what the government thinks anyways). I get home get out of the car and have a look at the ass end (car still running). To my suprise there is a heap of steam still comming out of one pipe and thats it (the other side had none). Its the side that is opposite to the main muffler..can i call it the "U pipe" side??. I put my hand near the mouth of the tip on the u pipe side and it was really hot. The other side (left hand side) was not as hot at all ......and no steam. I put 2 n 2 together and thought that the pipe (U pipe) had all night to get really cold and crispy so therefore it takes longer for it to heat up and stop spitting out steam. I have had the system for about 7 weeks now and im still getting that new exhaust "burning smell" when she gets a little boot. Is this normal?? Just thought i might question it and hopefully not waste valuable time of all those logical people living in my laterial world. Cheers guys.
