Short Shifter fitting complete
Finally got it fitted and I am delighted with the result.
It is a pain to fit and I did take a very cautious approach making sure the car was still useable between work sessions. If you are trying to fit the shifter to a VX220 the how to guide on Mark Verbooms website is excellent. The only additional tips I have are removing the engine cover makes it easier to drive the spring dowel out. You will need a lump hammer to apply enough force. Move the header tank out of the way as well.
The circlip is easier to get at from below a long screwdriver was what I used to dislodge and refit it.
