About to purchase Vectra SRi 150

Hi all,

Just found this forum after being a resident in the Vauxhallownersnetwork for a good few years. I have a Cavalier 2.0 8v GLS, but I'm now looking carefully at a 2001/Y Vectra Sri 150.

Fully aware about the chains etc.

What else should I look for?

I like my toys, so I intend to fit everything possible Cruise etc.

My cav has everything in it LOL

Anyway, looking forward to chatting.

I've been looking at a few and had settled on the 2.2 engine, thought I found a belter it was a 2.2 SRi 150 with 88K and LPG.

Great, until I did a check and found it had MULTIPLE insurance claims including a Cat D.

As you can imagine I walked away ....

Currently looking at a Metallic Red SRi 150 which I believe has had the re-work 20K ago, waiting for the paperwork as it's a guy at work.

The sri150 is probably the best vectra B built :shock: (I've owned quite a few including a gsi)

a very smooth engine and all round performer 🙂

with a few small mods the power can be increased up to 160 bhp too 🙂

Probably a good thing walking from the LPG beasty, Ive a system on mine (currently not working) that caused no end of problems. (see my threads) My fault for not researching it properly.............. knowing my luck I probably just got a bad egg, but if its economy you want, and todays technology, I would go diesel.

I want a good all rounder, economy, performance and reliability which is why I settled on the Z22SE.

It seems awesome but apart from the "chain of death" which can be sorted, it's a reliable motor.

I know I have the knocking backend to deal with, (rose bushes?), anyone in Surrey or Berkshire (Newbury) can help with these?
