Mark_647 Prob a silly question, whats the egr valve do and how does blanking it off help ? Does blanking it just cure a problem ? Thanks guys !
Andy_Coupe EGR stands for " exhaust gas re-circulation" what it does is on a cold engine re-circulate the exuast gases back into the engine to warm it quicker, they are know to stick and if they stick "open" they you have constant re circulation when its not needed. I never tried the blank plate on mine bu im sure someone will post the benifits of it!!!
vocky summed up quite well 🙂 the egr sends exhaust gases back into the engine, all usa cars don't have the egr fitted and vauxhall will remove yours if you have a problem with it. so basically it's a waste of space
Mark_647 Thanks for the replies, Very helpful, Do you know when the EGR valve has died ? Is there a sign ? Im assuming it turns an engine light on perhaps ? Thanks !!! 😃
Mark_647 Sorry guys, Im not to clued up with these cars yet, ive owned a 1988 ford escort for three years and that wasnt a problem!! is an eml, engine management light ? Sorry !!! Thanks for your help !!
