Engine Number Location ?

Could anyone point me in the right direction as to where the Engine Number is located on the engine itself.

Vauxhall Customer Services (Luton) have told me that my engine number is TAO???? which does agree with my Vehicle Registration document. This does not seem to agree with the engine numbers mentioned in the Vauxhall TIS relating to rework 1532 where it states that:-

'Production:Modified timing chain and lubrication nozzle have been introduced in production as of the following engine-No: 11065400 (March 2002).'

Anyone out there who could shed any light on this ?

what car you got mate ....all vec b's and vx220's are afected ...as for zafira and astra a ruff guide is if they are 03 plates or older you need to check your number if it is 03 plate or younger you got a good chance of not haveing the bad kit but you will still need to check just to be 100% never trust what vx say ....lol..

I have a Vectra SRi 150 - Y Reg (first registered March 2001). I was pretty sure it had the older type lubrication nozzle, as you have confirmed. I don't have any ratlles (yet) - car has a full Vauxhall Dealer service history.

I must admit, I am a slightly worried about the timing chain though.

as you have a vec b i'd suggest getting the chain changed as soon as you can afford to. as benny said all vec b's are affected and if it snaps the repair bill is very high.
