Clutch noise

So what this clutch noise that people talk about ?

When I put my clutch in, it makes a slight whining noise !!
Anythin to worry about ? Hope not !!! cryb..

we have a problem with our clutch when you get to the biting point, it whines like a power steering pump wen on full lock???!!!??? have not found out wat it is yet tho!!!

i aint sure about the noise you are speaking about but i do seem to remember being told that it is something, maybe a bearing or something notsure.gif ???

it is going to annoy me now until someone comes and tells you wat it is as i totally cant remember, although i could be talkin rubbish anyway :roll:

sounds like a dry thrust bearing, new clutch time when it gets really noisy :roll:

No joy my end either, Ive been told thrust bearing many times. The amount of money places want to drop, check, re-fit the gearbox, Im gonna wait until, as vocky says - it gets too bad or the thing dies on me!!!!

cryb.. Yeah thats what ill do, its not too annoying at the moment, its been like it since i got it. Thanks for all your advice again everyone !

i've been told it costs around the £500 mark to do a clutch change on the vec.

mine is also a little noisey but will wait till it gets really bad before doing it.

Yeh i think my clutch is on its way out also!! :?

Very difficult to put into 1st and reverse from being stationary!! Very high biting point as well cryb..

would the thrust bearing be classed as general wear and tear???

i think i might try to get it off my warranty!!!!

I think u might find it is a wear and tear item,the same as the clutch....wot sort of warranty u got...?.depending if ure freindly enough with garage they might make a claim for something else in stead of the thrust bearing...done it afew time where i work..

i had mine done on my veccy 1.8 and it cost £250 but i don't know if it's different from the 2.2 as they had to drop the sub frame?? dunno..

yeah the sub frame needs to be dropped on the 2.2 aswell. i might be missinformed notsure.gif
