By the way the noise isn't loud really only with the bonnet up or just as it starts to kick in is the tapping noise the purge valve opening and closing??? I started the engine again there I waited till the noise started and disconected the purge valve for a second the noise stopped I then loosened and disconected the pipes when I done this only for a second! the car reved up put the pipe back on and the noise came back is this just the way it is meant to be I was reading my haynes manual and I read that the purge valve doesn't kick in till the engine has heated up and in the words of the haynes manual "the purge valve is not opened by the ECU until the engine has warmed-up,and the engine is under load;the valve solenoid is then modulatedon and off to allow the stored vapour to pass into the inlet tract" so is this just the noise of the valve opening and closing or is my purge valve on it's way out also fingers crossed taking the air pipes off for a second wouldn't of harmed anything would it sorry about the leghnth of the post...
Any info will be greatly appreciated...
