platinum is very nice but if you dont look after it it gets dull and scratched i recommend getting it cleaned at the jewellers every six months to keep it looking good.

Thats one of the reasons why mine is made of Palladium. It has all the same properties of Platinum, can be worked like Platinum as well. It's also lighter (and cheaper!) but looking at it, there is physically no difference.
