best air in take

say money isnt an option for an air intake which is the best for performance, this:

panel filter

or i have been told about these proper induction kits that you can only get at race tracks which are carbon fibre including the element i think, not sure. any one shead any light?

panel filter and a cold air feed is cheapest, but the flowmaster will probably give the same results dunno..

I have a K&N panel on my Vec.

The bumper is coming off soon for some paintwork, so an ideal time to sort a cold air feed 😃

What's the best pipe to make this from, and where can I get some ???

I used electrical ducting, but vacuum cleaner hose is just as good dunno..

you just need to direct cold air to the airbox 🙂

Is the Veccy C Deisel pipe best for intake or has anyone seen the Dbilas intake looks really wide but for the money think it's about £110 dunno.. (not the Flowmaster kit must be the intake for it or something)
Just looking at it in TV says it's 130mm sounds quit big but for £110 don't think so and for the whole Flowmaster Kit is about £233 for the Astra same for Veccy but £190 for the VX220 :? you get the K&N Panel Filter with it!
There's a lovely Simota Ind Kit like the CDA with a massive intake for £200 in Marches TV in the GEAR bit of the mag looks the dogs carbon everything... drool.gif

Vocky which car are you talking about mate notsure.gif and where did you aim the pipe to get the most cold air? I was gonna put a pipe low down but a mate had one low went through a puddle and the pipe sucked a whole lot of water into the engine so I'm thinking just stay with the tried * tested Veccy C and where the intake is allready? Also does the Veccy C pipe just mate straight on or do I have to buy or make up something to mate it to the intake dunno..

I think the pipe you're talking about mate is the CDA Airbox the Rally teams and BTCC use their stuff it's a really good kit mate if your gonna pay the money for a flowmaster you'd be as well getting the CDA Airfunnell it's just an enclosed Induction Kit mate like the PX Viper kit so you'll get the roar of a good Ind kit 8) As said Rally Teams and BTCC use their products...

I always leave a gap between the cold air feeds and airbox intake, then hopefully any water won't reach the filter dunno..

Nice vocky do you filter the last part or just leave it open think I'll be going down the line of something like that so I take it by that you do put the piping down low as I've said know a bit but not everything but am I right thinking the coldest air is lower down than where the O/E intake is?

I fitted one from the upper grille and one from the lower grille, no room for both at the upper grille :roll:

Thanks mate I'll probably start fabricating something 2morro just hope the second pipe will go down past the radiotor without any probs...

I made it from glass fibre, I simply used a plastic bottle as a former and then cut it to shape once it was set 🙂
