M3 Mirrors.

Does anyone know where to get the base plates for the coupe, as i want electric M3 mirrors, did fancy the M6, but not clever enough to work out how to connect the indicators in them. :oops:

No mate, they don't do the base plates, ive yet to find a company that, but there must be, as dixy got M3 ones on the coupe.

Irmscher do M3 wing mirrors for the coupe mate their electric too but they are a bit pricey by the way I was looking at the pic of Dixys car and I can't wait to see your SE2 mate it'll be stuning about the mirrors have you tried Rimstyle or mibbe Auto tint desighn or mibbe Demon Tweeks if so dunno..

I Don't Think they make any mate i had my base plates custom made got M6 on mine looks the nuts good luck finding them.

Cheers SE1, i can't wait myself, just scared it is going to be too low, and when i test fitted it, it was onlt about 4" off the floor, and its not lowered yet, so the front might have to be changed in the future if it keeps catching and breaking, hope not tho.

Blue SE2 - are they hard to custom fit do you know? i do want the M6 but heard the wiring of the indicators is a bit hard.
By the way SE2, your is absolutely stunning, wish i could afford the reiger kit.

Hey Jamee yea the Rieger kits are really good mate they take some punishment here's a couple of pics of my Hatchback Reiger Infinity 1 Kitand a pic with the new wheels on and my Coupe beside her the Hatchback is lowered 60mm on KW Variant 2 Coilovers so getting over speed bumps etc is a nightmare I could raise it but with the Coupe now I just use her as my daily driver I was sick of driving around paranoid about going over a speedbump etc the speedbumps are way to high no need for them to be as high as they are :evil: the Coupe is lowered 55mm/F 35/R on H&R Springs & Dampers but without a kit she's fine 😃 If you do decide to lower her mate as I said in another thread I would either go for coilovers a bit pricey but if you're going to a show you can slam her and for daily driving you can raise her but again get them set up by a "PRO" but if you're going for only Springs or Springs & Dampers I wouldn't go lower than 30mm take a measure tape out put the kit like you done and take off 30mm if it's to low I wouldn't bother as you'll get sick of avoiding potholes and speedbumps scraping your paintwork etc...

Not too bad jamee i had help from a mate who works in a body shop they were modified from astra hatch they needed trimming and extending and bolt holes relocated.

To be honest i haven't wired my indicators up :roll: not because it would be to hard just not made my mind up what to do with them. I think it would look stupid having the side repeaters and the mirror indicators and i don't really want to spend the money on that at the moment.

1) smooth over the side repeater hole in the wing and use the mirror.
2) change the leds in the mirror and have them flash when the alarm is armed?

if you wired them up to the indicators, wouldn't they flash with the alarm, as the normal indicators do.
I dont know if the bodyshop is capable of modding the plates in that way, this is the 1st time i have used them, but a couple of people of astra-sport have recommended them as well as fred666 have on here, so ill wait to see what the coup comes out like and then ask them.
It go in tomorrow morning, front bumper is going to be deslatted, and the kit blended and sprayed.

I ment I wanted to wire them up to the alarm so it flashed when it was armed like the LED in the car and not with the indicators.

Halfords used to sell them, could be worth a try. Think they were around £12 a set for base plates.

Shouldn't be too bad to wire them up from the alarm LED. Just take the LED out of the dash and follow the wires. Then wire your mirrors in to them 🙂

why bother with m3 they are old hat now + the big downside is they are fixed they dont spring back if you catch them they just break off.

i had a 325i m3 look alike and had a few hairy moments on narrow streets.

Where have you heard they are an arse they are easy you even get a diagram.
Let me know if you find a base plate for them i was lookin for ages and i'v got a mate who is still looking
