The other route - (a new ECu and the original one controling the throttle) - since there is no idle air valve I am guessing the orig ECU opens the throttle a bit when starting cold?

Hi all,

Please forgive my absence over the last two or three months. I've got a big work project on that's taking every last minute of my waking-time at the moment.

I'm very sure that the larger RC servos are fully up to this job. If you can trust the servo to fly quarter-scale planes then believe me, you can trust them! I bought two RC servos off of Ebay to do this job - each are about the size of a fag-packet, with roller-bearings. The main thing is that they are cheap (around £25), powerfull, but trouble is, don't offer a feed-back mechanism - which isn't a big deal to add one to the linkages in the form of a potentimeter...

Since all this I've actually tried my ITBs using an ETB cut open and stuck on the end. Needless to say, I get the dreaded P1514 (although when it's running it sounds awesome!). I've re-engineered it now using a bowden cable and the original non-linearizer off of the bike TBs, but I'm still not sure if that will work. Everything's a bit hectic at the moment so I haven't had time to test it, but if that doesn't work then the only real solution for me will be to use a beefy industrial servo and a PIC to 'fake' the TB, given I'm keeping the original ECU.
