before i begin i would just like to point out that the following was carried out on an
airfield under supervision and i am not encouraging speeding or racing on public roads in any way
one off my mates owns a seat ibiza 1.8 20v turbo cupra which has a cat back exhaust, pipercross induction kit and a n74j valve(more boost).
i drive a 2.2 astra hatchback which is completely standard.
yesterday we had a race from a rollin start in second gear at 30mph. i was expecting to get beat by a fair bit but i was pleasently suprised 😃
basically when we started it was neck and neck into 3rd gear, but at about 5000rpm in third i pulled about half a car on him, then into 4th i stayed about half a car length in front until we ran out off runway, we reached about 115-120mph.
i was completely shocked by this as was my mate. on paper he should have won??
the seat has 156 bhp(not sure on torque) and i believe it would way a fair bit less than my astra, so it should have won??
this is the first time i have had a chance to really push the car and i am really chuffed with how it went 😃 cheers..
so, do i have a quick astra, does he have a slow seat or would this be the expected outcome notsure.gif also wat experiences have you guys had in your cars(1/4 mile ect)???
