hi guys got a very bad problem with fuel tank this is my third fuel tank i had on my vectra i change it two weeks ago and now the tank has gone again for some reason my tanks keep on enploding on themselfs not sure why this is doing i very need some advice on this because i am at lost now and getting very feed up change fuel tank i ve attached pics below to show you this was the tank i took out two weeks ago :cry:

Hi mate what year is it does it have a charcoal canister.

its a vectra 2001 sri 150

Very strange that, sounds nasty. Vocky or some of the other may be able to help you out with this problem. I hope you get it sorted soon.

I have never heard of this before? Must be some sort of fuel pressure issue? notsure.gif

check the entire fuel tank breather system, including the fuel tank vent valve on the side of the airbox.

no air is getting into the tank during driving, so the tank implodes 🙁

i take it your talking about the purge valve which is on the side of the airbox vocky?

If so how do you know if its working or not? cheers

remove the valve and apply 12v to it, then try blowing through the valve.

might be worth blowing through the pipes with the valve off too.

something is blocked in that system 🙁

We`ve had a couple of combo vans in with the same problem and it was the filler cap blocking. When you took of the filler cap did it hiss at you?

i get a hissing every so often. is that a bad thing?

yer everytime i take the petrol cap off i get a lot of air come out but i found out that the purge valve on the side of the airbox itsn't even working so no air is getting the tank so found 1 problem so far just got to check the rest of the breather system for blockages

hey snowman i found the location of that charcoal canister you where on about it was behind the driver side wing just under the arch just to be on the safe side i going to replace that as well thanks for the info m8
