is it safe to simply blank off your egr valve and leave it like that??

yes you can fit a blanking plate and leave it permanently like it 🙂

but you must leave the egr valve electrically connected or you will get an eml 🙁

hmm, i have been told on another forum that it is not good for your engine as it has been designed to work with the valve???

i am fitting it tomorrow so will see how it runs wen it is blanked off, hopefully sorts it out!!!

the dealer will remove the egr valve if you booked it in with a fault with the egr.

so it must be fine for the engine if vauxhall allow it.

blanked off the egr today and it still doing it!!!

anyone have any other suggestions??

i have been told it could be an air flow meter or an ecu fault??

no air flow meter on the z22se 🙂

the symptoms are when accelerating with the throttle fully down lower down the rev range ie before 3500rpm the car splutters as if something is holding it back, it only judders for a split second.

it also feels like it is severely under powered before 3000 rpm but after that it is fine.

it is idling fine most off the time but sometimes it does take a dip down then come back up, from around 700rpm too 500rpm, it done it this mornin wen i had the bonnet open and the engine moved as if you had switched it off, if you no wat i mean notsure.gif

it only does this every now and again tho

might be worth doing the basics first,

vx triple electrode plugs
fuel filter
air filter

then see if they have made an improvement dunno..

seems like my car is doing the same so i checked my spark plugs and found some single electrode ngk in there so they are coming out!! also i'm going to change air/oil/fuel filters and do an oil change. are fuel filters hard to change? and where is the fuel pump on a vectra b?

fuel filter is underneath the nearside rear passenger seat - but under the car notsure.gif if you get what I mean :lol:

easy to change too, but a bit smelly :lol:

fuel pump is inside the tank 🙂

the car is going in for a service next weekened, getting the everything done, fuel filter oil filter panel filter oilchange gearbox oil feul filter ect.

will see how that goes!

standard vauxhall plugs - the best plug for the z22se and only £4 each 😃

lift the rear seat up, there is an access hole in the carpet, under that is a black plastic cover, under there is the tank/ pump cover

had same symptons new coil pack to cure

new coil pack is going to be tried after the service if it still doin it.

it is under warranty tho so the coil pack should not cost a penny!!!! 😃
