OzAstra I was reading the instructions to derestrect tha air box by http://www.astraownersclub.com/document ... strict.pdf in step 2. My understanding is that the rolled "mouth" of the pipe actually makes the pipe work better. Air volume in a tube with a rolled mouth is geater than a straight cut as it will end up being when the pipe is removed. can anyone convince me that the air box lid is better without the cone pipe.
vocky the cone pipe is smaller than the opening, by removing it you create better flow. ideally you should have a cone the same size as the opening, but you still get better performance without a cone than with the small cone fitted 🙂
OzAstra I thought than may be the explanation after I posted the message. the airbox lid suction is from the corner, perhaps not the best shape. a short pipe and a cone would fit there fine, maybe I can make it from the original by cutting the narrow bit off and shape it with heat to a cone.
