Rattle

Expeirenced a rattle today on cold startup and after bein parked on a slope all day.....Only lasted about 2 secs max,,not sure if its just where the oil had drained away and it bein a hot day or not...
Chain was replaced last year by myself so shud be ok....

Wot sort of noise does it make neil when the tensioner fails??

do a oil and filter change and put it down as one of those things mate ....

sitting inside the car the engine sounds like a diesel on tickover when the tensioner fails.

as Benny said, give it an oil change, I now only use GM fully synth oil 🙂

Used the car with no probs today...went up to castle coombe and wasnt hanging around there or back.....
The noise was just a rattle for 2 secs tops when it happened.....not a sound from it 2day tho..

This is bizarre as mine did the same yesterday. It had been parked on a really steep slope (about 30 degree nose down) and lasted about a second. I checked the oil straight away and it was still on max so no problems there and no sign of it either. Went to Rockingham in it today for the touring cars and no a whisper, drove well all the way.

I just put it down to being parked on such a steep slope for a day or so. It had an oil change about 2k ago and Benny himself did my chain about 6 months ago so im sure its fine, just a one off thing 🙂

Gave the old girl an oil and filter change today...oils only been in there 2k tops and it was shitty.....

I've found that If I park the car on a slope nose down then it rattles, even if it's not sleeping there for too long,

I park it nose up very often, and even after all nigth it will not rattle when it starts.
