Excessive engine movement...

Anybody came across this in a coupe 2.2??

Recently had my exhaust replaced after the cat converter totally burnt out plus the 2 lambada sensors. Also had to replace the middle section.

After fitting it all the guy at the garage coudn't get it started because of a problem with the transponder in the key fob.

Car sat outside the house for a few days, i've now managed to fix the key fob problem, simply by reseting the ecu. So i got the engine started, when its running the engine has alot of movement, back and forward, im guessing this is what buggered my exhaust in the first place.

There is also a very loud whining noise coming from the drivers side of the engine.

Anybody any ideas or seen this before??

I have alot of engine movement in my vectra b mate?? Mainly on start up though :?

This seems quite exessive though mate, enough to totally bugger the exhaust!

Deffo something not right, the engines nearly jumping out the engine bay 😃

I would inspect the engine and gearbox mounts 🙁

[as for the vecB it will be the rear gearbox mount needs replacing]

I think the mount is around £100 and not the easiest to change, but can be done without dropping the subframe

the rear mount sits over the steering rack and the rear bolts are hard to undo, otherwise not to hard to change dunno..

had this same problem in my astra have fitted the power flex front mount kit solved the problem and it puts the power down better to ,was all down to my ecu problem and me having to drive the car 40miles in limp mode to get home lol

Just incase anyone is intrested, car has been at vauxhall today!

Took it in to get checked as thought it could be a timing chain issue, got a phone call there and was told it was needing a new coil pack, as this was causing the movement, so new coil pack is being fitted with new set of spark plugs!
