Inlet pipe question

Hello all,

I am trying to fit a vectra c cold air pipe, but I have a question about the removal of the old one.
I allready removed the mounting clips as you can see on the following pic, and cut the front of the pipe with a hacksaw.

Now, I want to remove the inlet pipe (where the airbox is connected to the engine), but I don't know if I may remove the 3 pipes connected to it - circeled red - (do I have to disconnect the battery, or ... or anything else?! I have no clue at all), and unscrew the green circeled screw, to take the whole inlet pipe off.

I think with that pipe removed, I can easily take the cold air pipe off?!
With the pipe removed, I assume it's better to immediately close the hole with let's say tape, so dirt and dust doesn't enter?

there are no issues removing the intake pipe, just remember not to overtighten the clips 🙂

no real need to cover the throttle body, unless it's very windy or dusty 🙂

I got the standard cold air pipe out showo.. (just removed the intake pipe, and the cold air pipe slided - with a little effort - out towards the headlight - without having that removed). 🙂
While I was working on it I noticed something else:

Is this normal?
It's situated on the right under the throttle body ..

yes its just the egr pipe with some heat sheild over it try blanking it off for your next mod

as above, it's just heat shielding 🙂

hot exhaust gases are re-entering the inlet manifold via the egr system :shock:

now that's got to be good for performance :evil:
