richard my astra 2.2 seems really slow to me kept thinking maybe im just used to it now but dont think its that what are the symptoms of a sticking egr valve? also a couple of times in the last few weeks there was a strong smell of petrol but couldnt find were from just dosent seem to have any go in it any ideas please?
vocky I would check the fuel tank vent valve pipework, it sits on the side of the airbox and goes to the inlet manifold if it's split or come off you will get a smell of fuel and poor running
richard in answer to jimbob-80 i only smell petrol when driving i must admit car was fairly low on fuel was off to garage at time to fill up i also checked the fuel tank vent pipe and all seems ok was wondering if a sticking egr valve could be to blame for why my car seems unresponsive im sure this has been asked but is there a way of testing to see if the valve is to blame i may end up just fitting a blanking plate anyway. is the part number the same for astra and vectra?
