sever knocking from front wheel..

so my car went in for its 1st mot passed after a few demods (sunstrip,rear lights, and hid kit)only £30 after i come out the vx dealers i went to go and have my sun strip put back but all i could here was a sever knocking from front end stopped and had a good look nothing a friend suggested the caliper was loose nope. after a hour of fiddling about thinking my drive shaft had gone i got the tuque wrench out and checked the bolts and guess what there were all ready to fall out so i think I've had a lucky day and not had the wheel come off while i was doing 60 on the way home ... just goes to show check those bolts people you never no.. also i think it was strange how it was fine all the way up until it went in to the dealers dunno.. dunno.. dunno..

That was lucky. I know you said it passed but did it fail on HID kit, did you have to remove it for it to pass?

yeah the hid's had to be swapped for the standard bulbs they called me in and showed me on the wall the light pattern was fine with the hids but when it was in the pattern tester the angel was incorrect something to do with one of the hid bulbs they told me the light output of the bulb had to be exact i.e from the base plate of bulb to the filament had to be a set distance if it was longer or shorter the pattern would be incorrect see image

luckily when i fitted the hids i bought 2 new standard bulb holders so i just swap them out and they pass it put the hids bk in now lol for another 12months 😃 😃

Cheers for that i see the differance. think i will just stick to OEM lights then.

That was very lucky Carl, just goes to show that not all garages are competent. Did you tell the garage about what happened?
