bit of help ?

so its a nice day and i wonted to go out side with the laptop but i can see a thing on the screen in the bright light ?

how do i set it so i can see ?

its the same in the house when its plugged in all is fine but when its unpluged it goes very dark any ideas ?

its a dell inspiron 640m

There will usually be a brightness button Gaz, which is activated by keeping the Fn button held down, and then it's really dependent on the Laptop itself, as mine are on the Up and Down arrow keys to adjust the brightness.
