Both are engine-management systems.
The motronic is commonly used in plenty cars. It was developped by Bosch in 1979, of course there are newer versions of it. The new 2,8 Turbo f.e. uses the Motronic ME 9.6.
Another system is Siemens Simtec (the Z22YH has Simtec 81).
The Z22SE uses a GM-software, called GMPT-E 15 or later 16.
Saab developped its own system, called Trionic. The Trionic 8, which is installed in the Z20NET is very good, but also very complex. That is a reason for the fact, that there are few chip-tuners for this saab engine. Its difficult and expensive to develop software for it...
