Seeing as the weather is so bloody nice today, I've finally made a start on putting the fence back together. I've managed to re-dig half the holes, and put 5 panel back up. I've ran out of post-crete now, so will have to wait until next week after I get paid to do some more

Cheers Simon, well I've bit the bullet and gone into my overdraft (nothing new there) and got another 8 bags of post-crete. Been at it since 11am this morning, and managed to get quite a lot done. I'm just having some food, and I'll take some pictures.

Cool, it's just the weather for it 🙂. I still need to finish mine off. I only need about 8 planks up. The rest of mine is all done. When I done one of my holes I had to use 6 bags of ready stuff as I dug it too big lol

I've just ordered the 2 new fence panels, and ANOTHER 8 bags of postcrete (£70 delivered) and that will be here on Wednesday.

So as it stands at the minute, it cost me nearly £800 initially last summer, and I've spent another £200 so far putting it back up :cry:

Good progress Matt! Still need to sort mine out, need 3 new panels. Shame about the cost though, you`ve spent alot there.

Cheers Andy, it certainly is a shame about the cost, but at least I know that what ever I spend at the minute, I can get back when I come to sell the house.

With it being nice and sunny we have spent some time in the garden this weekend, Mandy now wants the decking to go into "phase 4" which means "deck whats left" :roll: tbh though it will look the bollocks but its gonna cost some £££££

Bloody Arnold Laver! I ordered the rest of the stuff I needed to finish the job on Saturday, and was told it would be here Wednesday (today). So I've been sat in the house waiting for them to deliver the stuff, rang them a couple of times to see if they had a rough time, but they just kept on saying it was still on the system to be sent out. Phoned them at 16:30, and the lass who answered the phone said she'd seen my order go out for delivery, and would be here soon.......they lying bitch! Just had a call from the manager, and the Blue Circle Cement lorry hasn't turned up today, so they have no post-crete.......sho how did that lass see my order leave on a lorry??? Explained this to the manager, and I can get some discount on my next order, and they are going to call me tomorrow morning once they've had the delivery of postcrete, and mine will be one of the first orders.

nice job, have you wrapped plastic round the bottom of the posts, seperating the wood from the concreate?

Its a trick my m8 uses (a fencer). The wood draws moisture from the concrete and reacts with it and rots very quickly (12/24 months). before he sinks the post, he wraps a plastic membrane round it keeping them seperate, also he uses gravel boards fixed under the panel so the panel itself is not in contact with the floor to again stop rot.

That said he is a perfectionist and depends how long you will be staying there i spose dunno..

Cheers for that Dave, I've got some used postcrete bags, so I'll try wrapping those around the rest of the posts. We're hoping to be out of here in the next 12 months, so it will be someone elses problem then.

Np Matt, it must be that time of year, im just fencing mi back garden, probably be here for a while so opted for concrete panel/post, not much change out of a £1000 :shock:

All those mods i could av got wi that :cry:

I've spent close to that and mine is mainly wood as you can see. For us to have done it all in concrete panel/posts, it would have been near £2k

I know what you mean, i have just had to have mine done too £1200 for some concreate and wood. there goes my new TV idea!

OK, I'm starting to get pissed off now with Arnold Laver......I'm still sat round waiting for my delivery. How the hell are you supposed to get anything done in the building trade if the people you get stuff from don't deliver until nearly the end of the working day. It's a joke, I've just rang them, and they have said my stuff is "out for delivery"...but they also said that yesterday.
