Phone call from the stealer's at 2pm today, guess what, my car's fitted with the older, smaller oil jet !!
The service manager apologised for telling me that my car wasn't affected.
He said that according to the Re-work notes they have, my car should've been fitted with the newer style oil jet, as my chassis number falls outside the Re-work guidelines, but acknowledged that my engine number falls within the numbers on the Field Remedy.
He went on to explain that as far as he's aware, all dealers follow the guidelines supplied in the Re-work notes.
He's contacted the VX technical dept, for a technical case number, and has spoken to VX customer care.
They acknowledge my jet is in need of replacement, and pending conformation of full service history, will be making an offer of contribution for changing the timing kit.
Sadly, I didn't leave the service history in the car, and I didn't get it to the dealer in time for VX to make their offer today, so I'll have to wait til Tuesday to see what they come up with.
My parts are ordered though, and should be with them on Wednesday (blo*dy Easter holidays)
I'll let you know on Tuesday how much they ask me to pay, but as they've admitted fault, and moved quickly to sort it all out, I'm quite hopeful of a good outcome drool.gif
