got my insurance changed over to my vx220 for an extra £60, bargain 😃

then got a quote from them to re-insure my vec 150, I told them I had already got an on-line quote of £413 🙂

we have been with them for a few years, but both have been on the same policy, so zero no claims for the new insurance :?

they quoted £655, so I just laughed and said bye bye :lol:

finally got it insured for £365 via Diamond, not bad 😃

My Vec 150 insurance is out on Friday, best Quote was via confused.com.

£205 full comp with swiftcover.com, that's only £9 more than my old 140 woohoo.gif

but £355 with zero no claims is pretty good too 🙂

My highest quote was over £560, that's with 9 years no claims :shock:

Im 22, with 2 yrs ncb, and a 2001 sri 150 vectra, and i got a quote of £550 from adrian flux. which aint bad really for my age. i told them someone had offered me 595 and said could they beat it, so they did.

Oh and by the way, Diamond isnt just a womans car insurance, you can get insurance if your male, as i got a quote of 655 for my vectra when i phoned them up, but i had my mam on the insurance, so that might have been why, im not sure.

always best to have a woman as a named driver, it lowers the quote quite a bit 🙂

Im with Adrian Flux and when they say the`ll beat a quote they do! This is the 2nd time they have done this for me. My renewal was set at £592, £300 xs and no protected NCB. Got a qoute else where for £582, £250 xs with protected NCB. Called Flux to tell them and they came back with £576, £300 xs and protected NCB! Not bad for one phone call. Could have got insured for £431 with Morethan but they dont do modifications :roll:

Yeah i have mandy on my insurance for that reason, she never drives it though :lol:

I passed my test only last year and I have never had a car insuarance cover before. Last year, when bought my veccy, the best quote I had was from Halifax £1100. That was the cheapest I got considering the fact that I had only passed my test and no discounts etc etc and was insuring a 2.2 !!

now after one years no claim, it has reduced to £635. Looking forward to few more discounts in a few months time!!!

I am an Indian student, living in UK for the last 8 years. Where I come from, we pay insurance for a car and any body who has a valid license can drive it !!

i have just turned twenty, have 1 years no claims and 6 points on my license :roll: my girlfriend is 19 with 1 years no claims and with diamond she insured our 2.2 astra hatchback for 1000 fully comp!!!!

i think we got a really good deal considerin my points!!! well worth puttin the girlfriend, wife, mother ect as the main driver 😃

kewl mate!!! nice 1. but with diamond, do you earn no claims as an additional driver on the policy?

I wouldn't have thought so, usually it's only the policy holder, but some companies do offer a deal on no claims notsure.gif

It pays to shop around, certainly online, mine is up some time in June.
Certain areas are rated differently as Jamesjohn will know, i am next door full no claims, protected, wife named driver, left on drive and mileage as 15k- yeah bull.gif £269.99 online with RAC. Phoned em up and they wanted £460 but honoured the online quote. The £460 was over £120 cheaper than the next best i could find and the majority inc Churchill in the £600 region as most were.
New 5 years ago i paid £420 region protected no claims fully comp up to 6k pa. Same mileage last year at 4 year old £360.

Used to be with Hyperformance when i had an unlimited bhp Sierra, still suffer with whiplash 10 years on. Any way these were bought out by some company and subsequently by another small fry, then again by RAC.
Seems as though the biggies are buying up the small fry and sooner or later will be doing away with the competition.
Even at £1000 pa its small fry compared to the petrol tax used, wish i was back to 6k pa instead of around 24k.
