Drilled and Grooved brakes

I'm in the process of getting some new front and rear discs (front drilled and groove), now my brake pads that are on at the minute are quite new and have loads of life left in them, but some guy i know says i have to get new pads with the discs, is this correct?

well it would be avised to but you could get away with it if there dead flat but if the pads are dished or this shape ) then change them .. imho

Definately use new pads on new discs. It'll be better for the bedding in process. As above, the current pads will have worn to the shape of the old discs so it would be safer to replace the pads at the same time. For how much a standard set of pads cost it would make good sense.
