turbocharging the Z22se

this is the beginning of a long thread. I will document as best as I can what I have to go through to turbocharge my z22se powered estate. This is a US
spec car so some things will look different. I will try to Photograph everything as I go.

OK starting with the parts list:

custom manifold........................purchased
36 lb/hr injectors........................have them
intercooler..................................purchased
oil feed line.................................need to buy
oil drain line................................need to buy
exhaust modifications................will do during install
boost pipes ...............................will have to be custom
silicone couplers........................need to buy
2bar map sensor.......................need to buy

this list will change as items are purchased

I will add photos and a "HOW TO" as I go

here are some bits for the turbo conversion

t-3 off of a nissan 280zx
its rough looking but sound mechanically I will have it whipped into shape quickly

injectors out of a Cobalt SS
these are 36 lb/hr

and finally the intercooler I am not sure how I will be mounting it.... top mount with a scoop in the bonnet or front mount..

definately front mount the intercooler.if you mount it on top of the engine you get all the hot air rising up off the engine 🙂

Dont know how i missed this thread up to now, cant beat a turbo.

Dont the compression ratio have to be lowered along with stronger rods and such like?
My last turbo really span up ultra fast on start up and you could very easilly rotate the V6 grabbing hold of the water pump pulley.

Some bonnet vents would be a must due to the heat.

I wish I was in the UK someday I would like to visit. I've never been actually.

The turbo system is back on track but had a few setbacks. financial mostly. I hope to have it on and boosting by the end of summer.
