sprinting: accelerating + shifting

Just being curious here, i havent had my coupe for a very long time so cant say that i know the car inside out yet but i would like to know other pple's opinions:

At how many rpm do u have to keep yer engine to start from a complete stand still without making your tc interfear but still get the best time?

also would like to know everybody's experience about what u think is the best time to shift when ur sprinting?

I beat the time opel states today with 0.1 second lol. Must say my petrol tank was nearly empty.

i was revving at 4000rpm but of course couldnt put it completely down else tc would have screwed me

That's when you'll know you are getting a perfect start mate when you can take the car from stand still and not get the tc to cut in I'm the same as yourself I don't have the TC switch yet but I am planning on having it done soon 🙂 so I can smoke the tyres 8)

if u could just spin the tires for a very very small moment im pretty sure that the 0-60 time will be even better.

I remember reading reviews about the corsa c gsi and the 2.2 convertible and they said the 0-60 times opel gave up cannot be reached without a lil bit of wheelspin cuz when u try to accelerate just a tiny bit over the edge the tc fucks it up and slows u down for a good sec or so.

im not talking bout acting like a boy racer smoking the tires but just that lil bit extra thats needed to accelerate fully ^^

As for your first question it's all gonna depend on your tyres obviussly a crap tyre is gonna reach its maximum grip much sooner and alow a wheelspin much sooner than a Ultra High Performance Tyre say the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 which is going to have more grip and allow a higher rpm before losing grip and getting wheelspin so the awnser to that is going to be different depending on what tyres the person you ask has and as a general rule if you don't get a chirp from the tyres you're not getting the maximum grip from the tyre and you could use more rpm as for your 2nd question really depends on what mods you have done but on a standard engine I'd say probably just before the redline and then try reducing it slightly untill you feel your always in the power band which you'll know you'll feel the difference when changing up a gear trial and error really mate as I said you'll know when you have found your perfect power band...
I'm not saying don't get a tiny bit of wheelspin(chirp) I meant not sitting spinning the wheels and you'll know the perfect shift from 1st to 2nd coz you'll hear the chirp then as you've got perfect power changing and you'll just break traction on the tyres.

A brilliant choice mate 8) By the way not trying to say I'm Michael Schumacher just telling you the way I found out my best power band mate :wink:
