richard my girlfreinds just had a local mechanic do a cam belt change on her ford puma 1.7 vct 🙁 the problem is he has stuffed the timing up hes had a couple of goes at sorting it and it s better :? but still not right i guess problem is down to the variable cam timing she now has car booked into local ford dealer does anybody no if this would be easy for ford to sort out dunno.. and what sort of labour might be involved ie costs i did cam chain on my astra didnt like doing it but went ok in the end maybe i should have had a go how easy would it be to set up the timing any ideas thanks for any help
vocky ford garage will sort the timing 🙂 any cambelt change is easy with the right equipment or experience dunno.. I hope it doesn't cost too much :roll:
richard thanks i hope they can with no problems also i hope it dont cost much it was my idea she took it there so quess what im gonna foot the bill just hope it dosent hurt my wallet to much
richard well the ford dealers re set the timing 🙂 and total bill £189.18 🙁 that really hurt my bank balance next time i will keep my mouth shut and the girlfreind can find someone to do the work for her rather than me finding someone. expensive lesson i learnt there
vocky consider that a bargain, if the valves had hit the pistons you would have been looking at a new engine :shock:
