As in, do you still connect to your own broadband account with your ISP?

You can get WiFi access anywhere which has a wireless access point. If you are at home, using your own Wireless Router, you don't have to pay for access, as you are accessing your own private network, and using your own broadband account. If say for example, you wanted to use your Laptop in a Hotel with WiFi, you would then have to pay them for access to their network, and use that network to access the web.

Where? From home, nothing, as you are using your broadband connection to connect to the internet.

Elsewhere, totally depends. When I was in Dublin last year, I paid £12 for 24 hours access.

You can use it anywhere is the world, as long as you can get access to a Wireless Access Point.

Places etc, haven't a clue, I've never needed to use it, other than when I went to Dublin with work.

wifi can get very exspensive using it away from home, and in these hotspots its easy for the admin of the hotspot to watch your every key stroke
