indash dvd player

Well my new toy arrived today, an Alpine IVA-D310R indash dvd player it feels like xmas lol.

the box was quite big and i was a little suprised but not as suprised as when i opened it, here is a picture of the bag of wires it comes with

the remote control is for size comparisson.

I've removed my pioneer unit (which will be for sale shortly) and have started to fit it but its slow going as i'm having to move a lot of the wires which are already installed.

I'm planning on getting a cd changer for the glove box, a tv tuner with free view and 2 9" headrest screens for the rear so gonna be busy over the next couple of weeks sorting that lot out lol.

Looks really nice, in my opinion you can`t go wrong with Alpine. Good luck with the wires, I hate the lack of room behind the stereo.

was thinking of pioneer or alpine but after some research on talkaudio.co.uk it seems everyone favours the alpine.

i've spent most of the afternoon removing the 3 sets of rca's i have in the car as they no longer need to go to the headunit they go to the hideaway unit in the boot.

well i bought it off ebay, its an ex demo unit with a years warranty and it was £599.

the cheapest i hav seen them in the shops is £688 at www.caraudiocentre.co.uk

i was looking at the pioneer AVIC-X1R but people pointed me in the direction of this, can't wait to finish off fitting it tomorrow 😃

well i've finally finsihed fitting the radio and its taken me about 4 hours and a load of cuts to the fingers/knuckles but it was worth it.

now its in it looks great, the touch screen takes some getting used to. the picture quality on the dvd player is good to which was suprising.

i've pretty much decided against a freeveiw tuner now as have read lots of bad reports about the ones on ebay and the alpine one is over £400.

unfortunately my excitment and happiness has been cut short as there is a problem with it :cry: when the screen is open no matter which button i push on the screen it'll only do one function so i'm gutted. it has a warranty so i'm sending back the screen and the brain and they will be replaced if they are faulty which obviously something is faulty.

so they'll be coming out tomorrow :cry:

Unlucky, sorry to hear about the issue Andy, nothing worse than a niggly fault pissing on your excitement. Looks the nuts though mate 😃

only reason i thought of doing that was incase when they get it back it works fine and then they won't replace it.

it is/was a really nice unit and wis i'd bought one instead of the pioneer cd player back in September.

i've spoken to the place i bought it from today and they've ordered me a replacement and they'll receive that by friday so i should be looking at getting it by next week hopefully 😃

well had an email today of the shop and they are sending the new unit out on monday, can't wait as it's doing my head in having no radio.
