de-restricted my airbox today! Still has original filter in it cuz my k&n hasnt arrived yet but i couldnt wait to do the mod :lol:

anywayz it does really work, even without a new panel filter cuz the car is more responsive. In fact i have proof because before i did the mod, while shifting from 3rd to 4th at around 2500-3000 pms it didnt immediatly pick up cuz 4th lacked some power at the bottom but now thats GONE and engine starts pulling immediatly even in low rpms and ina high gear. And this is all without a vectra c pipe either.

there are quite a few restrictions on the z22se engine, in the alfa it produces 185bhp, so there's 40 bhp's worth in ours :shock:

yes i know, my plan is to reach 170-175 bhp without changing engine internals like cams, etc

those xtra bhp are cuz the alfa has direct injection i think

well with a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, sportscat, derestricted airbox + vectra c pipe, group a exhaust from cat and chiptuning it should be possible to reach my goal, or am i so much off track? :shock:

you should reach you target with those mods 🙂

might need some cams to pass 175 bhp dunno..

there is a chance i have to start making alot of miles a week next year and if thats the case ima put lpg in it(i live in a diesel country where driving petrol is like a punishment and xpensive) and i dont know if cams will go with lpg + cams is alot of money thats why its important to get the max out of it without touching engine internals 8)

if the 2 go together though i would def consider cams and/or headwork

fuel consumption will go down when tuning an engine, but performance does go up, it's a balancing act :roll:

Yep it has a lot of small enhancements 😉
Twin VVT (exhaust and inlet cams), Direct injection, and stronger internals to reach the 7k rpm limit.
Plus a much bigger inlet manifold and exhaust one too.

I don't know if these manifolds bolts into our engines, maybe the head is so much different that it doesn't 😉

hi,
how do you de-restrict your airbox then as it would be good to do it ?without making it obvious to the untrained eye.
as long as it does not involve to much work then i would be up for that if someone could pass on the info and pics as reqd,
