if you want a factory-fit oil cooler you could use the vx220 item 🙂

it is a sandwich plate system, this fits in place of the original oil filter cap and uses the engine coolant system to dissipate heat

you should be able to pick one up from a breakers yard 🙂

I'd swear the vx220 manual says to torque up to 25Nm, and my sandwich plate bit pisses oil everywhere when I do that - i've been having to do mine up at around 90 🙂 Is it the same on yours, or do you reckon something is deformed on my engine?

Out of interest, if you were fitting it to another car, where would the oil pipe coming from the cooler go to? Just into the sump somewhere? The sandwich plate only has a single pipe from it.

I replaced them once, then the next time I had them off it leaked again.

According to TIS you are supposed to replace them every time but no-one i've spoken to has bothered (including the vaux garage, but then thats no big surprise i guess! 🙂 )

well i had just the same problem,deposited 5 litres of oil every where on my undrtery,lol,its a slow job but i found new seals and remove the hoses made it work first time ,i am just going to order new seals next time i service it.i think the main problem is vaux dummies usualy over tighten the cap thus when undoing it to change filter,it releases whole lot.
