ANDREW22 would u think i need a cam change due to the mileage there is no noise coming from the engine just not sure when to have it done . help needed thanks has full history. many thanks andrew..is there any chance of someone in this forum checking out if my car needed to be recalled for any work with vx . can supply engine and chasis number if needed many thanks hope you guys can help me out thanks andrew
Andy Hi Andrew, the cam chains are meant to last the life of the engine so i don't think there is a set time to get it done. My car had done 120k when i had my chains done and there was no rattling coming from the engine. i had them done for piece of mind.
vocky if you want piece of mind, get it changed but check your engine number first, above 11064500 had the newer chain kit fitted at the factory 🙂
simon1 as vocky says .. for piece of mind get it changed.. had mine done 3 months ago was supose to be ok re vauxhall say.. when benny took it off found still had the old style jet fitted.. dont take any notice of the blue dot and cut outs... this dosnt mean you have the new jet fitted,, i had the cut outs and dot ... but still the old jet fitted
