vectra 2.2 exhaust General Questions

Hey,

I have a Vectra 2.2 Sri 150 (2001) and last week the centre section went, once that was replaced that, its now blown the front section out.. so, I need a new front section (with the cat)..

My question is simply, what can i buy to replace it?

Does it have to have a CAT? what does the CAT do?
What have other people bought?

my advice would be to get a new flexi welded in, the flexi only costs £15 on ebay, then you need to find someone to weld it in place

you have to keep the cat on the z22se or you will get eml and running problems

you could fit a sports cat at the same time, this works well on the z22se

ps: you can remove your precat, mot safe too 😃

eek, whats the pre cat?

I was told that i need to replace the whole section, from the engine to the centre section...

will the flex pipe be ok?

normally on the z22se the flexi fails everytime 🙁

you will gain 5-8 bhp just by removing it

they were fitted to pass first registration, then it's not required, it's job is to warm up the main cat quicker

most owners quickly remove it 😃
