Cooker question (Gas)

I have just been up to my sisters new house and the place the cooker sits has a chain on the wall that fits to the cooker, to stop it from snapping the gas pipe if pulled away from the wall. She said you have to have one if you own a gas cooker notsure.gif . Is it true as I don't have one on my range cooker dunno..

for gas cookers you have to have a chain so the cooker itself doesn't fall or get pulled over, there should be a cooker hose to connect it to a bayonet fitting on the end of the pipe. no free staning cooker should be hard piped anfd as for range cookers i'm not sure about as there are very heavy and are hard to pull over. only seperate gas hobs should be hard piped with a gas valve in easy access just before the hob
