Mould/Damp Advice

Well....because we have no central heating, we seem to have quite a bad problem with mould/damp on the landing/stairs:

Now, we have a de-humidifier running almost constantly (which is costing a furtune to run!) and we try to keep the bathroom door closed when having a bath. But, we still seem to have this problem. The parts where the mould it growing, is backed onto the eves of the roof, where there is no insulation etc, and I can only presume goes straight onto tiles?

Anyone got any suggestions on how to help prevent this? notsure.gif

I would consult an expert with that much, it's not good for your health breathing in the spores 🙁

there must be a leak somewhere creating the damp, which the mould loves 🙁

Thats what I can't understand though, because the bedroom and bathroom are both adjoining to both those walls, and also the little cupboard where I'm sitting now on the PC, and there is no mould at all. Would the fact that it's always bloody cold on the stairs/landing have an affect, as the steam from us having a bath condenses on the very cold parts.........where the mould is growing? The parts I've taken pictures of are the only places in the house where mould is growing.

Thats not great matt, My mum and dad had a similar issue at there old house on one external wall but it was old type plater you know that black stuff. yours looks like fairly new plaster so i dont know.

They solved it by knocking back to brick treating the brick and then had it re-plastered, I dont know if this would help you are not?

Like neil says though it aint good breathing in all them spores.

Well I've got all next week off work, so I've already got some stuff to kill it and remove it, so going to give that a go, and take it from there.
