my vx220 has been ok without the balancer shafts
the rear bearing has a single 4mm oil feed slot and by forcing the bearing over the hole blocks off the oil supply 🙂
my friend explained that maybe the balancer shafts are to make the engine steady on tickover, as the tickover is quite low, and when cams are fitted it causes an imbalance, so by removing the balancer shafts, smooth tickover returns notsure.gif
sounds a good theory anyway 😃
edit: oil pressure is 80 psi on tickover and over 100 psi at high revs 🙂
