valve guides

The head i got yesterday, i noticed very slight play in the valves when they are in the guides - is this correct ? - Its only slight, or should there be no movement at all ? (I imagine there would be some movement to stop wear)

I suspect oversized stems, and reamed guides have been done - is this the norm?

also theres visible scoring on the cam caps, you can feel with a fingernail, is this ok ?

(funny thing is there was no wear at all on my 97k engine)

there should be some play in the valve guides, otherwise they would seize

as for the scoring, as long as it's not deep it should be ok

you could always re-use your original head and sell the other as a ported head on ebay dunno..

Just seems odd, my 97k engine has less wear considering it was probably abused more... :razz:

Ive a pair of cams with it too, with the hex drive - they ok to use ?
