Mark_Dj I have now started to build my 6ft fence using single planks of wood. I started my first hole yesterday digging 2ft down. Today I will go and see about getting 3 8ft posts, as I have the others I need. Whats best to put down in the holes to set the posts? I will pick something up on the weekend for that. This is the last side I have to do to finish my fence off 🙂. I would like it all finished off this weekend. This is how its looks so far.....
Matt I used pre-mixed post-crete, you can get it from Focus, B&Q etc, and it's about £4 a bag. A bad does one post. Simply fill the hole half with water, and add the contents of the bag. It only takes about 10 mins to go off as well, which is a bonus.
Mark_Dj Cool. I will look out for that then. I have just ran into a little problem on my 2nd post. I have to line my posts up with next doors, but his fence is only 4ft and I can't place my second one with his, as I have just hit the concrete from his post. I could probably get away with fixing my post to his then as it's solid enough
Mark_Dj Well I am pooped now after doing that one hole. I hit concrete and had to dig it out. Thats me sorted now ready for the build on Saturday 🙂
Sjdickso Like matt said a couple of bags of post create will do the trick. Just had mine all re-done.
Mark_Dj I got 4 bags of post crete yesterday ready for today but it's raining 🙁. Can I still set the posts in the rain?
vocky best to wait for the rain to stop or maybe cover the hole after filling the dry mix into the hole, the damp ground should add enough water
