radio code, help needed please!!!

this is the standard unit that my vectra came with, when i got my car it came up with 'SAFE' in the dash screen and i didnt bother to ask the garage if they had radio code because i wasn't going to have this in my car long(i took it out as soon as i got home and put my sony head unit in) but i want to sell it and i need to know how to get it off 'SAFE' mode so i can put a code in. i know in some cars you have to have the keys in the ignition for 1/2 hour or so before it resets, ive tried this but nothing happened. any help would be great. notsure.gif

If that unit is the original one phone the dealership that first sold the car, will have this their details will be in the service book on the first page, they might for security ask you sommut like what the chassis # is so have this handy.

You might need to get it recoded. Any good radio shop will do.

thanks guys, i think that i have the code but it's just getting it out of the 'SAFE' mode to enable me to input the code.

THink from memory u need to either press or hold down the AS button...

i tried that for about 30secs got bored of it, so i tried a different buttons to no avail.🙁

pres as and keep it pressed i think, then switch it on while holding the as button untill u hear a beep.

Then with the number keys type in code and then keep as pressed again till it says beep again.

Since this is ccr600 u need 2 codes, 1 for the radio and 1 for the cd changer.

this is just what i remember out of head lol... i'll take a look into my ccr600 manual later to give u exactly what u need to do if some1 else doesnt beat me to it lol

thanks for the info, it would have been much easier if i had been given a code and been given the manuals for the car when i bought it from the garage. but i dont even think they had them to give.
