Whatever i've read regarding spark plugs in Vauxhalls it always comes back to keeping them standard issue.

I have heard aftermarket plugs can actually damage your engine.

I've got those platenum plugs, Had them in for about three years 30,000 miles now and there still going strong! never had a single missfire, still starts strongley and since I fited them I notice a lot less carbon coming from the exhaust. Really cant fault them. Dont see how a spark plug can damage your engine either? It could effect your ignition system if the gaps set incorectly maybe.

I heard off a tuning company that Platenum plugs are great, but they are really designed for hard use all the time ie Track use / if you thrash your car every where. I can not see how they will damage anything but i was told if didnt drive it hard all the time which it is hard too now a days just to stick with vxl.

The reason why VXL plugs are so good is that they`re made by Bosch.

stick with the standard triple electrode, they can't be beat for value and they are certainly one of the best (if not the best) plugs for the z22se dunno..

I have them exact platinum plugs in mine, only put them in around 3 weeks ago, been fine, aint had any problems as of yet...touch wood.

PS......i deffo wouldnt be paying £18.99 for them either, i got a full set, air filter, oil filter, sump plug and washer, for under £20 from a local parts place, thats inc VAT too. lol

Dont forget that the z22se and the z22yh have different ingition systems. Fit genuine plugs theyre made by Bosch if you look in the right places you can pick them up cheap, ie autovaux or tradeclub saves you the p&p.

ive got the platinum in and they are fine, but if as stated they suit thrashed cars thats why they suit me!

I didn't realise the std plugs were so cheap!

I put NGK platinum in mine and there was a very noticeable performance increase... But then I think my old plugs had done 50k so its not really a fair comparison!
